Faith

My mother was famous for "Little Pearls of Wisdom" as she would call them. She warned me that I should remember them and pass them on to my children and their children and so on. Here are her a few of her reality statements...."Beauty doesn't last forever" and "Youth doesn't last forever" and " Money doesn't buy happiness or love". In retrospect I realize that these words are true but not full of hope. God's Word is Hope! Gardenfire writes God's Word clearly...these three remain Faith...Hope...and Love. Teach your children that Faith is the beginning of all that is good from God. Hope is what keeps us from perishing. And Love is the reason we are and can be in a life lived through Him. Faith does last forever...Hope does last forever...and Love does last forever if, and only if, our Faith is in God. Our Hope is in God and our Love is in God. A beautiful and truthful word on a Cotton Gospel Opportunity!

East West

Years ago my husband and I flew from California to Hawaii across the brilliantly blue Pacific Ocean. For hours we traveled marveling at the expanse of blue laid out before us. We commented often at how big the ocean was. There were no other landmarks or land formations to define the blue space.
Often we would look at each other in complete amazement and then finally my husband turned to me and said, " I have never seen anything this big! There is no beginning and no end. It just goes on forever!"
That is the best explanation of the extent of God's love for us. He removes our failure...our shame...our sin so far from us that we can not find the end when we are wrapped in His love. Now, who wouldn't want that kind of love and mercy in their lives?
God, help us to accept Your immense love. Help us to believe what we cannot see. Help us to follow Your ways and love each other as You love us. I recently heard a quote that I have taken a shine to..."Love is the only true reality". Let me rephrase that from a Christian perspective..."God's love for us is the only true reality!" And that, my friends, is all we need to know....write me.

You On His Mind

It takes a lot of energy to maintain relationships and keep them healthy. Most of us can recall people who were once dear to us but time built a bridge that now separates those loved ones from us. You have to actively engage in another person's life to keep a relationship alive. I am not just talking of marriage relationships but of friendships as well. It can be exhausting! But love for one another keeps the flow of that relationship alive.
Think how exhausting it must get for God to be our champion 24/7. Yet, that's the good news...He never gets tired of loving us...caring for us...wanting to spend time with us. We are always on His mind. Even when His Son died for us....we were on His mind. How can we not think of Him?
